The disappointing Federal Government Contribution Project

SIBUTI: The village connecting roads in Sarawak are very disappointing to the villagers as well as longhouse residents.  For years, they expect the government to repair and build better roads in their villages but their hopes disappointed because there is no change and the road is getting worse.

The residents of Kampung Pintasan Tiris to Kampung Masjid Tiris, and the road to Essau’s longhouse is very bad for light vehicles especially when it rains. Not only bad roads but their residential areas are also exposed to flash floods every time heavy rains occur.

Villagers complain of this problem to PAS so that this problem can be addressed by the government to immediately repair the village road full of puddles and muddy because they had promised to upgrade their village road but their village roads are getting worse with puddles here and there.

Although their village name ‘Tiris’ they expect that the allocation for their village road will not leak. Although before there are a federal government contribution projects but it is very disappointing for the people because the road has been badly damaged and poor quality and also their roads are easily damaged and full of puddles.

We urge the authorities and those concerned to immediately repair the village road because the villagers have long been suffering from the damaged roads every rainy season. Sometimes the village connecting roads between Essau’s longhouse and the village of Tiris was cut off due to the large floods occurring there. The longhouse people cannot get out of their flooded villages and roads cut off.

This road problem has long been taken place it is hoped that the authorities can repair the roads immediately for the convenience and safety of the residents there. Cooperation with the authorities and those who can help solve this problem immediately is very much appreciated.

Yours faithfully,
